The College Lake neighborhood is located on the southwest side of Excelsior southwest of Oak Street. College Lake is an older community with older homes featuring excellent character. The closest school to College Lake is Excelsior Elementary School. Minnewashta Elementary serves 750 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade with a student teacher ratio of 13.5. Excelsior Elementary seeks to provide an excellent educational program designed to help each student excel. Other schools in the area include Deephaven Elementary School, Minnewashta Elementary School, Minnetonka Middle School West, and Minnetonka High School.
